This past Monday we celebrated Earth Day, focusing on the care and mending of God’s creation. On Sunday we’ll be having a collaborative conversation on gardening in central Texas. Barbara & Terry Kimball will lead this time, which will include a slide show of some of the best native & adaptive plants that are thriving even through our drought months.
To go along with our discussion, we invite you to bring plants you want to gift to congregation members, and in turn you’re invited to bring some home with you. No worries if you don’t bring some plants to gift, you’re still welcome to take some home with you, plenty for all. We’ll also briefly talk about the garden areas on our campus; if you’d like to sign up for the planting & care for one of our plots there’ll be an opportunity for that.
Thrivent (formerly known as Thrivent for Lutherans) has designated our discussion time as a Thrivent Community Event. With that designation Thrivent will be purchasing Peace dillo dirt and hardwood naturally darkened mulch for our campus. You’ll be asked to sign a sign-in sheet so Thrivent can submit this to its corporate office. We so appreciate Thrivent’s generous gift to us.
