On Easter evening, April 1, at 7:00 PM, we will begin a monthly practice of joining for a contemplative Night Prayer Service. It seems that there is so much heartache in the world, so much that needs our prayer, that we are going to begin to gather monthly to gather up the concerns and joys from our lives and the world around us and offer them up to God at the close of the day.
This is especially valuable on the very feast of the resurrection – because the resurrection dawns in a world still crowded with pain and death. We hope you will join us and invite others who might need a quiet space for contemplation on April 1 and in the months going forward. The service will have candlelight, simple music, readings from Scripture, and time to offer our prayers to God. We will follow the Compline, or Night Prayer, service from our hymnal.
