Mobile Loaves & Fishes is Back

We are once again able to serve the community from the Mobile Loaves and Fishes truck. The ML&F truck will deliver only pre-bagged meals. No drinks, clothing or spiritual items will be on the truck. A full team won’t be necessary, 2-3 volunteers should be enough. Our date for taking meals out continues to be the second Saturday of the month. We ask that no one who is at high risk for Covid go out.

What? Me Worry?

Matthew 6:25-26, 34 :  Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Celebrating Creation on 9/20

This Sunday, we will have an opportunity to join in worship with Lutherans across the country and the world in a service created and led by Lutherans Restoring Creation. In many parts of the church these last weeks of the great green growing time of the Season after Pentecost are a time to focus on creation and our care for it. In this liturgy, many wonderful leaders in our denomination will offer music, prayer, and preaching for our reflection on this theme (including Bible scholar Rev. Dr. Barbara Rossing and renowned church musician Marty Haugen).

Of course, these days, you should wear a face mask and maintain at least 6 feet of distance from other people.

God’s Work. Our Hands. Sept 13

Each year the ELCA designates a day and encourages its member churches to serve their neighbor by completing a service project. The date this year is September 13th. Pastor Carolyn has shared a calendar which you could use daily for the whole month. Living Lutheran August issue

One of the sources and stories in the article “The Spirituality of Natural Burials” is Peace member Pastor Rodger Ericson. Some of you may know that Rodger is passionate about making burial practices more meaningful, using fewer resources and being kinder to our planet, and more affordable. Here is a link to the article.  To see more go to the Living Lutheran website.

Help May Be Available

As we continue through this pandemic it is possible that you or someone you know will be seriously affected. The impact may be financial, social, nutritional, or something else. There is a possibility that resources are available right here at Peace. One example of a resource are 59 shelf stable meals that have recently been donated.
