Welcome to Music Director Ruben Rincon, Jr.
After time of transition and discernment, the Music Director Search Team, with input from members of the congregation, were overjoyed to offer the position to Ruben Rincon, Jr….and were even more overjoyed when he accepted and was ready to hit the ground running to prepare for the Christmas season. Ruben began his ministry with us this past week, and will be leading music of The Loveliest Christmas Songs on December 10 at 5 pm…and his first Sunday morning worship service on December 17.
Ruben has been an active church musician for most of his life, first playing for a church service in the 6th grade after learning enough notes on the French Horn in beginner band class. While working on a Bachelor of Music Education degree, he was a part of the university band, orchestra, brass ensemble, and master chorale. He also took private piano and organ lessons, preparing him for the church work he loves so much now. Ruben has been a choir member, played piano and organ, and directed choirs and other music ensembles in Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and Anglican churches before coming to Peace Lutheran Church. He also has taught music in public and private schools at all levels from Pre-K through high school. Ruben and his partner, along with a dog and a cat, have been living in Round Rock since the end of October and are looking forward to all the fun things the area has to offer.
