The 2018 Leander-Cedar Park CROP Hunger Walk is now behind us and Peace Lutheran Church has raised about $9,110 to help end hunger. 25% of the proceeds from the Leander/Cedar Park CROP Walk will go to Hill Country Community Ministries, we wouldn’t have been able to collect this much without the help of friends and family.
Last Sunday 38 Peace Walkers, including friends, family and 5 dogs joined with Walkers from other Leander and Cedar Park congregations to praise God and send blessings to those who will be receiving our CROP walk donations through Church World Service. Before the walk we heard how most American families use 300 plus gallons of water daily and how families in third world countries try to survive on 3 gallons. We were told how contributions to Church World Service has brought clean water to remote areas in Vietnam and has greatly reduced infant mortality due to contaminated water.
Walking at the Twin Lakes YMCA was enhanced by warm sunshine, fragrant bluebonnets, and shade along the Brushy Creek. The birds were singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”
Our Team Leaders,Rodger Ericson, Laura Eichner, and Linda Parsells, are very grateful to our Peace Lutheran members who generously donated to this worthy cause. They are also very grateful to the 20 Peace Lutheran members who knocked on doors and went online to invite non-members to contribute to bringing clean water and reliable food sources to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
If you meant to donate but forgot, it’s not too late. Go to:https://www.crophungerwalk.org/leandertx and donate now!
